Human Resource Advisor | Hotel Venue

Queensland’s Sunshine Coast | $90,000 - $100,000 plus Super

Bring your hospitality HR experience to a vibrant hotel environment where no two days are the same.

We are seeking an experienced and hands-on HR Advisor to join a dynamic hotel venue on Queensland’s stunning Sunshine Coast. Reporting to the People & Culture Manager, you’ll play an integral role in supporting the venue’s people operations, working closely with department leaders and particularly the Food & Beverage Director.

This is an ideal opportunity for an HR professional who understands the fast-paced nature of hospitality and enjoys being visible, approachable and involved in the day-to-day employee experience.

THE ROLE

Working as part of the People & Culture team, you will provide practical HR support across a highly mobile and diverse hospitality workforce.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Supporting the People & Culture Manager with day-to-day HR operations and employee matters
  • Working collaboratively with the Food & Beverage Director and operational leaders
  • Providing practical advice and support to managers and employees
  • Managing routine employee queries and workplace matters in a timely and professional manner
  • Maintaining accurate and up-to-date employee records and HR documentation
  • Coordinating payroll information and employee administration, ensuring deadlines are consistently met
  • Supporting roster, payroll and workforce administration across busy operational departments
  • Coordinating end-to-end recruitment for a variety of restaurant and bar positions
  • Managing recruitment administration, interviews, reference checks and new starter documentation
  • Delivering a professional and welcoming onboarding experience for new employees
  • Ensuring new starters receive the appropriate induction, training and information required to succeed in their roles
  • Assisting with employee wellbeing initiatives and general People & Culture programs
  • Supporting injury management and return-to-work processes
  • Helping foster an inclusive, positive and welcoming workplace culture
  • Building strong relationships with managers and employees across the venue

ABOUT YOU

You’ll be a practical, people-focused HR professional who understands that hospitality operates at a different pace. You enjoy being part of the action and can confidently balance employee needs, administration, recruitment and operational priorities.

To succeed in this role, you will ideally bring:

  • Previous HR, People & Culture or HR Advisory experience within hotels, restaurants, bars or the broader hospitality industry
  • A strong understanding of hospitality operations and the challenges associated with a highly mobile and transient workforce
  • Familiarity with restaurant and F&B operations, including rosters, payroll deadlines and changing workforce requirements
  • Experience coordinating end-to-end recruitment, ideally across high-volume operational roles
  • Strong HR administration and employee record management skills
  • An understanding of onboarding, inductions and employee training processes
  • Exposure to employee wellbeing, injury management and return-to-work processes would be advantageous
  • Excellent communication and relationship-building skills
  • Strong organisation and attention to detail
  • The ability to manage competing priorities in a fast-moving operational environment
  • A calm, responsive and solutions-focused approach when working under pressure

WHY APPLY

This is an opportunity to build your HR career within a vibrant and dynamic hospitality environment while working alongside experienced operational and HR leaders.

You’ll have the chance to make a genuine impact on the employee experience, from attracting and welcoming new team members through to supporting employees throughout their journey with the venue.

If you thrive in fast-paced hospitality environments, understand the realities of restaurant and hotel operations and enjoy being a trusted point of contact for employees and managers, we want to hear from you.
